Historic Zulu Impis
The Zulu Impis of the mid to late 19th century were highly organized
and disciplined military units that represented the pinnacle of development in tribal warfare. In
documented recent history, the Zulu Impi provides us with an easily identifiable
reference that evokes what the organized barbarians may have seemed like to Roman Soldiers

The Barbarian Impi Puzzler
The question that the Impis can help you answer is directly related to Rome in this game.
You may not be able to find all the pieces of the puzzle since some of the Impis could get
killed before you see their names. You can use the Impi name list to help you figure out the
important piece to watch for.
There is only one Zulu Impi name that you may encounter which should not be in the list and that
name has no relationship to the puzzle.
The puzzle has no impact on or relationship to playing a good game of Civilization III but
for some players it may add a little bit of enjoyment. It is probably not possible for a
below average Civ3 player to find enough of the clues to lead to finding the answer to the puzzle.
So every player should be encouraged to play there best Roman game first and then go hunting thrills
on the barbarian frontiers.
SPOILER RULE: Regardless of when you find the pieces of the answer to the
