This is a C3C Game Of The Month. It MUST be played in Conquests Patch version 1.22f.
Conquest 10: Mongols
In the 13th Century, the mongols, lead by Temujin, attacked one of the ruling sects of their Chinese neighbours, beginning a course of conquest that would ultimately result in the largest contiguous empire ever seen in the history of the world!
The Mongols are one of the greatest incarnations of the militarist trait seen in the game of civilization: the children were taught to ride horses at the age of three, and hunt with bow and arrow at the age of 5. The use of the horse allowed the Mongol hordes to project their power by travelling great distances in very short times - the riders sleeping in the saddle where necessary.
The tales of their conquests go hand-in-hand with the tales of their cruelty; it was common to slaughter of anyone unfortunate enough to be captured - even if this was the entire civilian population a city!
The decline of the Mongol empire followed the death of the great Kublai Khan - the man who had finally united all of China under Mongol rule. You hope that you can emulate the conquest feats of the great lineage Khan, but can you prevent the subsequent decline?

Goody Huts: Goody huts have caused some game balance issues previously, where some players have got settlers or cities from goody huts, and some have missed-out. This month, (on a trial basis) the game rules have been modified so that a hut that would have given a settler will instead give a worker (as discovered by Roland Ehnström and TimBentley ).
A 'fix' for the Barbarians!: As many of you know, the barbarians in C3C are 'broken'. This can be fixed by going to your \Conquest\ folder, and opening your Conquests.ini file, and adding a line noaipatrol=0 to the file. Whilst we cannot force people to do this, it will make the game a bit more interesting if you do. If you are not comfortable editing your .ini file, you can download a utility here to do it automatically.
ALL SPOILERS PROHIBITED: Do not post any messages or questions about this game in any forum until after about March 5, 2005. Please do not discuss any aspect of this game prior to that date.
