This is a C3C Game Of The Month. It MUST be played in Conquests Patch version 1.22f.
Conquest 14: England
The first inhabitants of England were small bands of hunter-gatherers, but Stone Age immigrants arrived around 4000 BC (that is, at the beginning of the world in CivIII) and settled in the chalk hills of Salisbury Plain. They were followed by the Bronze Age Celts from Central Europe, who began arriving in 800 BC. Romans armies arrived in AD 43, and were to stay until the fifth century AD.
Tribes of heathen Angles, Jutes and Saxons began to move into the vacuum left by the declining roman domination around the V century AD. The next invader was William of Normandy (soon to become known as William the Conqueror), who arrived on the south coast in 1066 with a force of 12,000 men.

The next centuries saw a series of royal tiffs, political intrigues, plague, unrest and revolt. Civil war erupted in the mid-17th century, resulting in the regicide of Charles I and Cromwell's reign as Lord Protector, before the eventual restoration of monarchy.
A period of progressive expansionism followed, as England collected colonies down the American coast, licensed the East India Company to operate from Bombay and eventually saw Canada and Australia come within its massive sphere of influence. Meanwhile, Britain was fast becoming the crucible of the Industrial Revolution as steam power, steam trains, coal mines and water power began to transform the means of transport and production.
By the time Queen Victoria took the throne in 1837, Britain had become the world's greatest power. Its fleet dominated the seas, knitting together the British empire, while its factories dominated world trade.
Will you follow England's turbulent history and lead it to rule the world, or will you let its power decline after it reached its apex; will you pursue the ways of trade or will you expand your territory through war; and most of all, will you ever get to build you own Magic Roundabout?

Goody Huts: Goody huts have caused some game balance issues previously, where some players have got settlers or cities from goody huts, and some have missed-out. This month, (on a trial basis) the game rules have been modified so that a hut that would have given a settler will instead give a worker (as discovered by Roland Ehnström and TimBentley ).
