Civ3 COTM CLXXI: Portugal

Welcome to conquest game of the month 171, created by MrRandomGuy. In this game, you will be Prince Henry of the Portuguese people, who are expansionist and seafaring. Starting techs are Alphabet and Pottery. Your Unique Unit is the Carrack, an improved caravel that doesn't sink in ocean.

The normal changes to the Conquests rules apply to this game: Iron locations are fixed, and Workers instead of Settlers can be popped from Goody Huts.

Software Versions

This game is supported only in Civ3 Conquests v 1.22 for Windows or Civilization 3 Complete version 1.22 Rev A for Macintosh. Please do not attempt to play this game in any other version of Civ3..

NoAIPatrol Setting:

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the barb behavior in C3C and how the NoAIPatrol flag controls that behavior. For the COTM competition it is highly recommended that all players set the NoAIPatrol flag to 0 to permit fairly consistent barb behavior across all player's games. This is done by opening the "conquests.ini" file in your favorite editor, adding the line "NoAIPatrol=0" to it, and saving.
