In this game, you will rule as le Pétit Empereur Émmanuel Macron over the French, who are Industrious and Commercial and start the game with the knowledge of Alphabet and Masonry. The French Unique Unit is the Musketeer, a Musketman replacement with stronger defensive ability.
This game is in all respects an Emperor game, great and less so. It was created by Più Freddo. What kind of Emperor will you prove to be?
Rule Changes
Apart from the normal Rule Changes for the GOTM, in this game, the Colosseum has been renamed the Hôtel des Invalides. Instead of generating happiness, it decreases war weariness. Furthermore, it has been named an Industrious city improvement.
The French also have three special units placed on the map, which come without unit upkeep. They look like Joan of Arc, but they are actually another famous historic figure in drag... These units are Armies and can be filled with military units just as normal Armies can. But of course, you have to get them back to the mainland first...

Special notes for C3C
NoAIPatrol Setting: There has been a lot of discussion regarding the barb behavior in C3C and how the NoAIPatrol flag controls that behavior. For the COTM competition it is highly recommended that all players set the NoAIPatrol flag to 0 to permit fairly consistent barb behavior across all player's games. This is done by opening the "conquests.ini" file in your favorite editor, adding the line "NoAIPatrol=0" to it, and saving.
