This month we have a guest mapmaker: This map was devised by Pangaea, and it's good... I've never seen anything like it. It's got a bit more land than typical, so we're giving you some extra time to play it - 6 weeks in total! From Pangaea: The loveable Dutch fella with the comfortable traits Financial and Creative is here to greet you, in a land of rivers aplenty. Take him to world domination. Or not. Worry not, there is enough real estate for any victory type you may wish to pursue. However, off in the black void somewhere is the happy and not-so-friendly Viking leader Ragnar (remember him?), and the equally mannered Sitting Bull. Both have got up on the wrong side of bed, and are at war with the entire world. No diplomacy with them is possible. By the way, in real life, Willem was eventually assassinated. For "fun", you can look up what happened to his assassin. But I advise against doing so while eating. His executioners were not kind. [DynamicSpirit adds: Just checked, and I advise against looking it up. Ever. Whether you're eating or not.] Map notes: The world got up on the wrong side of the sun as well, and has permanently keeled over. That means you will find ice in the west and east, and the world wraps in a north/south direction. There are 8 AIs and 2 Minor Civs. Everybody (except you) start with 2 archers and 1 scout, to enable earlier contact and defensive equality. The map is Pangaea - of course! - but heavily modified. Enjoy the ride. I hope people like it.
